Who we are
Pawtreon is operated by a small volunteer team based in Sofia, Bulgaria. For any privacy matters, you can reach us at privacy@pawtreon.example.
This notice explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What data we collect
- Account data: the display name, email address, and profile image you provide when you create an account.
- Content you post: rescue cases, photos, captions, comments, and messages you send through the platform.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, and basic device and browser information collected by our analytics.
- Support data: anything you send us when you contact us for help or feedback.
Why we collect it
- To operate the service: showing you the feed, letting you post, and keeping you signed in.
- To surface cases you are likely to care about based on location and follow relationships.
- To respond to your questions and handle reports of violations.
- To keep the platform safe from spam, fraud, and abuse.
Third parties we rely on
Pawtreon uses a small number of third-party services to run. Donations are processed by Ko-fi, which receives the payment information you provide to them directly — Pawtreon never sees your card data. Placeholder photography is served by Unsplash. Our hosting provider stores the site and records standard request metadata in its logs.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We only share the minimum data necessary for the services listed above to function.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights over the personal data we hold about you:
- Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure: ask us to delete your account and associated data.
- Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Portability: request a machine-readable export of your data.
- Objection: object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Complaint: file a complaint with the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP) or your local data protection authority.
Cookies
We use essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function, such as remembering your preferred language. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. If this changes, we will add a cookie banner and update this page.
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain specific records by law.
Children
Pawtreon is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.
