Our principles

Pawtreon exists to help animals in need and to support the people who care for them. Everyone who posts, donates, or follows on this platform shares a commitment to honest, non-exploitative rescue work.

These guidelines describe what belongs on Pawtreon and what we will remove. They apply to cases, posts, comments, messages, and profiles.

Cases we welcome

• Stray or abandoned animals that need medical care, food, or shelter.
• Veterinary emergencies and post-operative recovery.
• Neuter and spay campaigns for street colonies.
• Foster requests and emergency rehoming.
• Transport and clinic runs for rescued animals.
• Supply drives for small shelters and volunteer networks.
• Sanctuary support for long-term residents.

Cases we do not allow

The following are not permitted on Pawtreon. Cases that fall into these categories will be removed and the organizer may be suspended or banned.

• Fraudulent, misleading, or impossible cases, including false medical claims.
• Cases that present cruelty, hoarding, or neglect as "rescue".
• Cases without a verifiable rescue context or identifiable organizer.
• Pet breeding, pet sales, or commercial pet supply businesses.
• Bulk livestock, meat industry, or trophy hunting fundraisers.
• Weapons, drugs, ransom, bribes, bounties, or other illegal purposes.
• Fundraising for violence, hatred, harassment, or discrimination of any kind.
• Political campaigns, religious proselytism, or personal lifestyle fundraisers unrelated to animals.
• Cases originating from sanctioned regions or run by sanctioned individuals.
• Anything that promotes harm to animals, people, or wildlife.

Verification expectations

We may ask case organizers to verify their identity, their rescue status, the animal involved, and the destination of funds. We may ask for photos, vet receipts, shelter registration, or a direct conversation.

Unverified cases may be hidden from discovery surfaces, removed, or held until verification is complete. Verified organizers get a badge on their profile and higher visibility.

How to report a case

If you see a case or a user that violates these guidelines, please tell us. Send a short description and a link to report@pawtreon.example, or use the "Report" action on the post. We review every report and respond as quickly as our volunteer team can.

Enforcement

Our response is scaled to the severity of the violation:

• First-time and minor violations usually receive a warning and a chance to fix the issue.
• Repeated or serious violations result in case removal and may include a temporary suspension.
• Egregious violations — fraud, cruelty, illegal activity — result in immediate removal and an account ban.
• We may report clearly illegal activity to Bulgarian law enforcement and cooperate with investigations.

Appeals

If your case was removed or your account was restricted and you believe it was a mistake, reply to the notification email or write to appeals@pawtreon.example. We will review every appeal in good faith.
